Did you know that on average, one plastic bottle takes 450 years to break down into tiny microplastic while continuing to leak pollutants into our soil and water everyday? For every six plastic bottles people buy, only one is recycled. Every single second in the U.S., 1,000 people open a bottle of water, and more than 60 million plastic water bottles are thrown away daily, 80 percent of which end up in landfills. It paints a dismal picture.... Fortunately, 3D printing is one of the ways this waste can be used to turn everyday trash into useful products.
Did you know that nearly all 3D printer filament is made from a recyclable plastic? A recycling machine crushes the recyclable bottles and transforms them into plastic pellets/granules, then heats and extrudes these pellets/granules into the shape of filament. This eco-friendly filament is then wrapped around a spool so that it can be reused again by a 3D printer.
By using recycled plastic filament in all we produce, we are happy to be part of this recycling process, helping our country and the countries that we ship our products to become safer, cleaner, and healthier environments, one small step at a time.
